Vi Lea Borland graduated from Baylor Law School in 1982. Since 1989, she has been a board certified specialist in business and consumer bankruptcy, certified by The Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Her preferred areas of practice are debtor/creditor law and business and consumer bankruptcy, representing both debtors and creditors, including the representation of people and businesses with tax debt, and corporate law, including the formation of business corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships. She is a past member of the Bankruptcy Certification Committee for The State Bar of Texas, serving as Co-Chair of that Committee in 2005. She has filed and confirmed numerous Chapter 11 cases, including a case in which the debtor was a hospital. She has also been active in the representation of numerous clients with claims resulting from breast implants in the Dow Corning Bankruptcy proceedings and in State and Federal Courts. She is admitted to practice before all Texas State Courts, The United States District Courts for the Northern, Western, and Southern Districts of Texas, and The U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of The Texas State Bar Association, The Midland County Bar Association, The Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit and is a member of Mensa.
